Crew-served weapons course held at Fort Indiantown Gap

The crew served weapons course is offered through the Pennsylvania National Guard's Individual Training Branch. 36 students from units across the state honed in their marksmanship skills by training on the M249 light machine gun, M240B machine gun, Mark 19 40 mm grenade machine gun and M2A1 machine gun in order to become subject matter experts on those weapon systems. Security Forces Airmen from the Pennsylvania Air National Guard’s three wings participate in a simulated exercise involving recapturing an airfield held by adversaries as part of exercise Iron Keystone 2023 held at Fort Indiantown Gap, Pa., Aug. 5, 2023. The medium-scale combined exercise was held Aug. 4-6 and was the first-ever exercise held in the state intended to conduct an agile combat employment (ACE) assessment across the state’s three Air National Guard wings. While exercising ACE concepts, the exercise increased tactical proficiency, developed a baseline knowledge in dissimilar operations, and combined capabilities and resources across three major commands to maximize operational success in a contested environment against a near-peer adversary. Regional Training Site Maintenance partners with 10th Mountain Division

Spc. Ricardo Rios maintained constant communication with crane operator while soldiers secure the disabled vehicle. Regional training Site Maintenance – Fort Indiantown Gap, under the 94th Training Division, partnered with the 1st Brigade Combat Team 10th Mountain Division in Fort Drum, NY, to ensure 16 active-duty soldiers received the wheeled recovery specialist additional skill identifier.

Access control point dedicated; Fort Indiantown Gap now a controlled-access installation

FORT INDIANTOWN GAP, Pa. – Maj. Gen. Mark Schindler, the Adjutant General of Pennsylvania, Col. Kevin Potts, Fort Indiantown Gap Garrison Commander, and U.S. Rep. Dan Meuser, Pennsylvania’s 9th Congressional District, cut a ribbon officially dedicating the installation’s main access control point signifying a new era in security for all who work, live and train here. The ACP went into operation shortly after the ceremony, and now a state or federally issued ID will be required to access the installation. Fort Indiantown Gap was the National Guard’s busiest training center in Fiscal Year 2023.
